This was an exciting and fun-filled weekend! And also I broke a fence. With my body. (I’m pretty much fine, don’t worry.)

Hospitalization part 4

Oof, long time between posts. Things have been really busy (lots of medical bills plus slightly less working due to illness and tons of doctor’s appointments and PT means dreaming about bouncing checks at the grocery store and not having time to blog) Recovery proceeds apace.

Status Update: Numb with chance of sporadic impotent rage and scattered tears

so basically your standard depressive episode. So many people have reached out in various ways and I mostly have not responded to any of them. I see and appreciate them but I just don’t have the energy to respond if I want to stay as okay as I am (which is not at all okay, but I know it would be worse). So take this as acknowledgement and thanks, please.

Ankle Update

Yesterday kinda sucked. But before it sucked, I got my cast off! Woo! (General commuting woes and missing half the day instead of just a couple hours because of them being the suckiness. And it was my fault, too, which made me mad at myself because it could have been avoided. BAH.) But anyway,

shortly after posting my boss called me upstairs because he had just gotten off the phone with the company that handles our disability/fmla stuff.

Observations

Last week I was home most of the time (I took a trip to the library on Saturday) so I had a break from commuting and dealing with strangers. This week I have been back at the office. There are some things I’ve noticed that I want to discuss.  (I’ll probably have a post about the terrorist attack in SC up in a few days, too, though I don’t know if I have anything new to add to the discussion. It may just be a collection of quotes and links.) It’s taken me a little while to put my feelings about these things into words.

The Healing Proceeds Apace

I kind of can’t believe it’s already Thursday. Wednesday is basically a big blur to me. I know I hung out and listened to/slept through podcasts but basically my memory goes from coming back from the ER to sleeping and only getting up to pee several times and then today. Meds be serious business, yo. Fortunately, I don’t need them as badly anymore. I’ve been on ibuprofen only all day.

Recovery Update

Wow. Nerve blocks be serious business guys. I ended up at the ER last night, but I’m okay. details below the cut, but I took my meds right before starting this so I can’t guarantee coherence all the way through 😉
